Environmental Restoration Specialist

Elburn, IL

Overview

McCloud Aquatics is seeking employment for an Environmental Restoration Specialist to join our team. We manage and restore local lakes and ponds throughout Illinois and Southern Wisconsin, providing sustainable solutions to water quality challenges. We are looking for a dedicated individual passionate about environmental stewardship to help us further grow our rapidly increasing shoreline management program.

  • Implement environmental restoration practices, including prescribed fires, stewardship, and restoration

  • Identify and manage native plant species

  • Regularly use chemical treatments for ecological maintenance

  • Engage in customer communication both internally and externally
  • Collaborate with a team to develop restoration strategies

  • Participate in the management and treatment of lakes, ponds, and wetlands

  • Minimum 2 years of field experience in environmental restoration in the Greater Chicagoland Area ecosystems
  • Successful completion of at least 10 prescribed fires
  • Proficient in native plant identification
  • Willingness to regularly apply chemical treatments in restoration efforts
  • Strong understanding of ecological principles and restoration techniques
  • Ability to obtain licensing through the Illinois Department of Agriculture
  • Experience working with aquatic ecosystems
  • Certification in chemical use for environmental management
  • Prescribed burns

Lake Management Specialist

Overview

We’re seeking employment for a Lake Management Specialist (LMS). This position involves performing aquatic services (chemical treatment, microbial applications, aeration, etc.) in accordance with EPA guidelines, company policy, and all state, federal, and product requirements. The LMS will need to be proactive in solving customer problems and take advantage of opportunities to sell products and services to customers while developing and maintaining those positive relationships.

The LMS will maintain company transportation and equipment. All service work should be completed as directed in an efficient, timely manner, and all documentation should be properly filled out and distributed.

  • 18+ years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Free of illegal drug use
  • Able to work before 8 AM, afer 5 PM, and/or on weekends
  • Computer and internet skills
  • Able to operate a variety of mechanical equipment
  • Able to lift and move up to 55 lbs
  • Valid motor vehicle operator’s license
  • No more than 1 speeding ticket within the last 3 years
  • No DUI citations within the last 3 years
  • Read, speak, and comprehend English
  • Obtain and maintain a state-issued general standard license and other company working certifications
  • Knowledge of various aquatic vegetation
  • Knowledge of aquatic products, treatments, and services and how to apply them
  • Knowledge of state aquatic regulations and safety procedures

  • Ability to operate a trailer, vehicle, and boat; ability to launch, re-trailer, and secure the boat
  • Walk on uneven terrain and shoreline; ability to climb or crawl up, over, and into structures and crawl spaces

Aerator Maintenance & Repair Specialist

Overview

We’re seekingemployment for an Aerator Maintenance/Repair Specialist. This position involves assembling, servicing, and repairing electronic components and systems with hand tools, test equipment, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer’s specifications in a timely, accurate manner.

  • Install, diagnose, service, and repair electronic equipment
  • Test equipment such as test meters, ammeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscope ohmmeters
  • Apply proper maintenance techniques, and use power and hand tools to perform repairs/maintenance
  • Read wiring diagrams to trace electronic circuits
  • Coordinate daily schedule
  • Maintain communication with the office to ensure efficient and timely service
  • Complete service documentation with the relevant service/billing information
  • Assist others in their work
  • Monitor maintenance/repair-related supplies and report needs
  • Provide research for part prices/availability, manufacturer’s specifications, warranty status, and estimate approval
  • Respond to emergency situations, making informed decisions
